Minerals Council chairman Andrew Michelmore says Australia must put policies in place to survive the economic storm that may follow an escalating trade war between the world’s major economies.
In a speech to be given at the Melbourne Mining Club on Wednesday, Michelmore will urge politicians to boost productivity by streamlining approvals processes, lowering energy costs and “fixing” industrial relations to ensure Australia can thrive in the “new era of economic nationalism”.
