Incitec chases gas acreage to save fertiliser hub

Incitec Pivot has bid for the rights to develop a tranche of Queensland gas acreage that it believes can supply its endangered Gibson Island fertiliser plant for 10 years.
The acreage in south-west Queensland has been set aside by the state government for domestic consumption and is the subject of a competitive tender, which Incitec believes could save Gibson Island from closure next year.
