Mining billionaire Gina Rinehart has called out global resources giants, including her own company’s joint venture partner Rio Tinto, for sacrificing shareholder value in the pursuit of net zero emissions policies.
The Hancock Prospecting executive chairman singled out Rio Tinto and BHP, and called on their shareholders to demand answers from their boards over the billions of dollars being spent by the resources sector on emissions reduction while productivity stagnates.
