Explorers are scouring waste deposits from old mines across NSW in search of critical minerals that may have been overlooked as part of efforts to loosen China’s global stranglehold on the market.
A project by the Geological Survey of NSW collected 1200 samples from mines and used chemical analysis to identify critical minerals in mine tailings.
