Bumper mining M&A sparks guesses on who is next
Metals Acquisition Corp’s acquisition of Glencore’s CSA copper mine for more than $1billion has sent investors’ minds racing about more deals in the Cobar region of NSW, as mining companies increasingly refine portfolios amid the commodities boom.
US-listed “blank cheque” company MAC – backed by leading mining identities including Mick McMullen, Nev Power and Bill Beament – agreed to pay $US1.1 billion ($1.48 billion), plus a 1.5 per cent copper net smelter royalty, for CSA last month.
