BHP admits to $430m in underpayments over more than a decade

Past and present employees of BHP will receive close to $US280 million ($430 million) in back payments after the miner conceded it had wrongly deducted annual leave from staff entitlements for more than a decade.
The company told shareholders on Thursday that it had reported itself to the Fair Work Ombudsman over the issue, which it estimated would affect about 28,500 people.
