Another big miner in $1.2b ATO dispute

Another big miner is in a dispute with the Australian Tax Office, with BHP Billiton's coking coal partner Mitsubishi in negotiations over a $1.22 billion income tax deduction.
Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd, an Australian-registered subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate, claimed the deduction in its 2009 accounts, but the ATO has handed the company a notice of amended assessment over the deduction.
