Optus has struck its first major content deal since snaring the English Premier League rights away from pay TV giant Foxtel – with a company owned by Rupert Murdoch.

The SingTel owned mobile carrier has signed a partnership with wildlife and science media company National Geographic that will give its customers access to a mobile app featuring some exclusive content.
