News Corp Australasia executive chairman Michael Miller says Google and Facebook should be forced to pay Australian media organisations much more than the $600 million suggested by Nine chairman Peter Costello.

Mr Miller was responding to comments made by Mr Costello, who said Google and Facebook should pay about 10 per cent of their locally earned revenue for value derived from the use of media organisations' content. Nine is the owner of The Australian Financial Review.
