Rupert Murdoch has quashed plans to return to Australia for the first time in almost six years, meaning he will not be in the country to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the national broadsheet he founded, The Australian.
A source close to the Murdoch family declined to give reasons for the decision, which comes days after the 93-year-old married his fifth wife at a private wedding ceremony in Los Angeles.
