Lisa Wilkinson announced on Sunday night that she would quit Channel Ten show The Project after five years on the program, saying “relentless targeted toxicity by some sections of the media” had taken a toll on her and her family.

Ms Wilkinson told viewers at the end Sunday’s edition of the show she would not be returning as a host. She will continue working at Ten on other projects.
