Costs win for venture capitalist in defamation case

Venture capitalist Elaine Stead on Monday won another round in her legal battle with The Australian Financial Review when the Federal Court awarded her indemnity costs because the paper had refused her “reasonable” offer to settle.
Justice Michael Lee said he accepted columnist Joe Aston “had genuine and cogent grounds for his concerns” about the collapse of Blue Sky in 2018.
