CoStar says it intends to return former Domain chief executive Jason Pellegrino to the real estate listings platform he ran until last year and is considering a major rebrand of the company if its $3 billion bid to buy the business and delist it from the sharemarket is successful.

The return of Pellegrino – and the purchase of the homes.com.au brand – was first revealed by The Australian Financial Review in June.
