The big question for executives at the more than one dozen streaming services operating in the country is whether will viewers start to cancel subscriptions as a way of saving money.

The decision to cut the number of streaming services down from four to one was not about saving money for Georgie Robertson. Instead, it was about forcing the three teenagers in her household to spend less time on the screen.

“We had Stan, Netflix, Binge and Disney+. I just think they were superfluous because where do you draw the line in terms of choice and options? It’s a battle to get them off their screens as it is and too much of a distraction,” the 48-year-old publicist said.
