Freedom Foods reveals $591.5m cost of accounting scandal

Freedom Foods chairman Perry Gunner and non-executive director Trevor Allen will leave the troubled manufacturer's board after revealing a surprise blowout of more than $590 million in write-downs.
The name behind brands such as kids snacks Messy Monkeys and almond drink Milk Lab will need to raise more than anticipated, up to $280 million of debt to stabilise the company.
