Virgin Australia goes to war over airport ‘gold plating’
Virgin Australia says its operations are being hampered by disputes with airports over “excessive price rises”, as some airports raise annual fees by up to 45 per cent.
“Airports are monopolies, and we have no alternative if we do not agree to whatever capital investments they want to make, which result in excessive price rises,” the airline’s chief financial officer, Race Strauss, told The Australian Financial Review.
