Labor to take ‘close look’ at every infrastructure project
The cost and scope of the $14.5 billion proposed Inland Rail line will be among the projects reviewed by the incoming Labor government as it prepares to overhaul the infrastructure body that advises politicians what to build.
“When it comes to their projects, we’ll have to have a close look at every project on the books,” said a spokesman for Catherine King, who has been Labor’s shadow infrastructure minster and is expected to take charge of the infrastructure portfolio after being re-elected as the member for the Victorian seat of Ballarat.
