The strong improvement in equity raisings at the small end of the market is generally believed to be a positive as most of the extra capital will be used to fund business expansion.
This stands in contrast to the last time companies rushed cap in hand to shareholders during the global financial crisis as they needed cash to repair their balance sheets.
