Governments should break up big projects and work more collaboratively with industry to attract women amid global competition for skilled workers to build infrastructure, a federal parliamentary inquiry has been told.
Parliament’s standing committee on infrastructure, transport and cities wants Australian infrastructure projects to avoid getting sucked into “boom and bust” cycles that inflate wages and push up costs.
