Atlas Arteria’s 40pc Washington toll rise proposal hits dead end

Atlas Arteria’s attempts to raise toll fares by as much as 40 per cent for cars using the Dulles Greenway near Washington have hit a roadblock after officials in the United States recommended against the increase.

The ASX-listed company, which owns toll roads in North America and Europe, asked regulators last year if it could lift fares on the Dulles Greenway, a 22-kilometre toll road that takes drivers from the historic town of Leesburg towards the US capital.
