For Medibank Private’s outgoing chief executive Craig Drummond, the low career point came several days into the role when confronted with a major IT stuff-up: private health insurance customers would not get their tax statements in time.
“It effectively caused me to go and apologise to all of our customers and to speak to all of our regulators about some of the failings of that IT system,” he said.
