Labor rules out Healthscope bailout amid fears of hospital closures

The federal government says it will not bail out struggling private hospital giant Healthscope, which has ceded control of the company to its lenders as it tries to find a new owner, raising fears of hospital closures.

Health Minister Mark Butler, who was reappointed to his role in the second Albanese term of government this week, said Labor was watching the situation closely.
