Cheaper weight loss drugs would boost economy: study

Weight-loss drug companies claim new research shows that Labor and the Coalition are under growing pressure to consider listing weight-loss drugs on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme to tackle the nation’s growing obesity crisis and improve workplace productivity.

While neither party has proposed making weight-loss drugs more affordable as part of their election campaign pledges, polling shows more than half of people living with obesity would vote for whichever political party made the move.
