Diagnostic testing company Australian Clinical Labs is likely to face the competition watchdog’s ire over its proposed merger with beleaguered larger rival Healius to become the biggest pathology provider in the country.
ACL chief executive Melinda McGrath urged shareholders to agree to the off-market merger, which would create a combined group of more than 171 laboratories and 3400 approved collection centres nationally – more than any other pathology provider in the Australian market.
