Star Entertainment settles fight over superyacht sale

Star Entertainment has settled a dispute over the sale of a luxury yacht, agreeing to sell the vessel to a wealthy Cypriot businessman who sued the embattled casino operator alleging that it tried to back out of the deal.

Platinum Capital Partners – the private investment vehicle of Roys Poyiadjis and his family – and Star put to bed their legal fight in late December 2024 after the casino operator agreed to sell the superyacht Star purchased in 2019 and refurbished for $4 million to Platinum. Similar Benetti superyachts can sell for as much as $20 million.
