No conflict of interest in fishing friendship, Crown inquiry told
The former boss of gambling regulation in Western Australia says he saw no conflict of interest in the state’s chief casino officer going fishing with a Crown Resort manager.
Barry Sargeant, a long-time director-general of the department that has oversight of gambling, and who also served as chairman of the Gaming and Wagering Commission, told the WA royal commission into Crown he sanctioned the relationship in about 2015.
