From opposition, it looked like a political free kick that was impossible to ignore: hammer Queensland’s Labor government at every opportunity for trying to keep secret a report into possible links between Chinese criminals and Brisbane’s marquee casino.
Leading up to last October’s state election, the Liberal-National Party demanded the Miles government release the probity report it had commissioned to investigate links between Chow Tai Fook, a part owner of Brisbane’s Queen’s Wharf casino, and jailed junket operator Alvin Chau.
