Crown Resorts chief executive officer Ken Barton was left with little choice but to fall on his sword and was expected to announce he is leaving Crown as soon as Friday morning after reportedly meeting chairman Helen Coonan on Thursday.

This followed calls on Thursday from the NSW regulator to sack him and director Andrew Demetriou in the wake of the scathing independent probe into Crown.
