The nation’s second-biggest retirement savings fund, Australian Retirement Trust, will consider making multifactor authentication mandatory for users after it was breached as part of a co-ordinated attack on the sector last week,
It comes as Cybersecurity Minister Tony Burke broke his long silence on the attack, saying he was satisfied with the response from the funds and that primary responsibility for managing the fallout was with the national cybersecurity co-ordinator, Lieutenant-General Michelle McGuinness.
