The woman who stood down as AMP chairman and became one of the first big losers from the Hayne royal commission, urges other women not to shy away from board roles in the wake of her experience.

Speaking publicly for the first time a year on from the final report, Catherine Brenner, who joined former AMP chief executive Craig Meller in standing down after revelations of misconduct by AMP staff, said the truth was lost in the ensuing frenzy.
