Suncorp jacks up home, car insurance premiums

Suncorp has jacked up home premiums by almost 7.5 per cent, in the insurance sector’s latest indication of inflationary pressure.

The Brisbane-based company blamed the rise on repeated natural disasters such as big hailstorms – the damage bill from which blew out $205 million beyond internal budgets in the past six months.
