QSuper seeks court nod to levy fee for possible fines

The $120 billion QSuper is pleading with the Queensland Supreme Court for the power to levy a fee on members that would help pay for fines and penalties when the fund stuffs up.

The move is one of the first visible steps a big super fund has taken to manage the fallout from government reforms that will close a loophole that allowed funds to use member savings to pay financial penalties for civil or criminal breaches of the Corporations Act.
