London | Britain's Supreme Court dealt a fresh blow to QBE over the insurer's resistance to pandemic-related claims on its business interruption policies, with judges adding to the list of policies on which QBE will have to pay claims.
In a ruling on Friday that lawyers likened to "a financial vaccine" – and which could resonate in Australia – the Supreme Court judges firstly upheld a lower court's decision from September which found QBE was liable for some claims for COVID-related losses.
