Prospective bidders for the third and last "poles and wires" asset to be sold by the NSW government are already mulling potential partners after the NSW government confirmed it will fire the starting gun on Monday for the sale of Endeavour Energy.

The issue of the formal invitation to suitors for the electricity distributor, revealed by Street Talk, will need to submit expressions of interest by January 16, state Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian said.
