ANZ ‘super confident’ about NZ big bank profits inquiry
ANZ’s New Zealand boss Antonia Watson says a competition inquiry into the major banks is “a chance to get facts on the table”, countering concerns from the Hipkins government that the big four are making excessive profits across the Tasman.
Promising to balance out the profit claims in the new, year-long Commerce Commission probe, announced on Tuesday, Ms Watson said it was critical the inquiry be centred on “facts not soundbites”.
