Metrics in the middle of a private credit storm

The private credit pioneer has won support from big funds, brokers, advisers and research consultants, but its rise has divided opinions.

Andrew Lockhart is a pioneer of Australian private credit. But right now, he feels as though his $23 billion business, Metrics Credit Partners, is the unjustified focal point of the intensifying scrutiny on the fast-growing sector.

Lockhart, a co-founder of the lender, did not hold back on a webinar held on Wednesday morning following revelations in The Australian Financial Review that financial planning group Count had advised its clients to exit their holdings in Metrics funds.
