Larry Adler’s fatalist approach to life

Laszlo Adler (aka Lawrence or just Larry) may have turned FAI Insurance into one of the most respected companies in the country with a prestigious listing on the London Stock Exchange besides BHP and Westpac, but the man remains incurably orthodox.
“When I was young, people described me as arrogant. Now they say I am what is the word when one is a bit peculiar? – eccentric,” he said, munching on a Quick Eze indigestion (“have one, they’re just peppermints”) from the 12th floor FAI Macquarie Street headquarters.
