The judge presiding over a landmark criminal cartel case against three leading banks said he would examine whether the defendants could claw back millions of dollars in legal costs after the prosecutors dropped all charges on Friday.
Justice Michael Wigney of the Federal Court said an email he received on Friday morning advising that the case would not proceed “came as somewhat of surprise”.
