Genworth 'cautiously optimistic' on housing recovery

Last week Genworth Mortgage Insurance saw its share price rocket to an all-time high after it reported a surge in revenue on the back of the house price recovery.

The company, whose financial year coincides with the calendar year, saw third-quarter gross written premiums leap by 24 per cent on the corresponding quarter the previous year. The share price jumped more than 10 per cent to a record high of $3.96, before closing on Friday at $3.91.
