Star Entertainment has emerged as one of the biggest fee earners for investment bankers in the last 12 months, as the embattled gaming giant returned to capital markets twice for emergency funds.
Star’s $800 million equity raise last year netted bankers from Barrenjoey Capital Partners and Macquarie about $7 million in fees each. The struggling gaming business paid out another $14 million to Barrenjoey for a $750 million deal launched in September.
