French far-right Rassemblement National tries to soothe nervous markets

The French far-right party Rassemblement National is borrowing heavily from Macron’s economic policy in a bid to reassure nervous investors, while using immigration and security as points of differentiation.

As France heads to the first round of parliamentary elections on the weekend, the far-right Rassemblement National is trying to appeal to centrist voters and calm jittery financial markets, by adopting many of the signature economic policies of French President Emmanuel Macron, while using immigration and security to differentiate itself.
