Fairfax Media has acquired the 50 per cent of Antony Catalano’s Metro Media Publishing Holdings that it does not own for $72 million in cash and shares.

Fairfax, publisher of The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, said the move showed its real estate advertising arm Domain continuing its “aggressive national expansion".
