With October marking the highest ESG monthly flows on record with over $US36 billion ($48 billion) poured into sustainability funds globally, it would seem the ESG acronym might supplant FAANG as the dominant investment narrative for the 2020s.

This year has seen Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google (Alphabet) all enjoy a bumper ride in the market but the one thing they all have in common is they want to prove their commitment to boosting their ESG credentials.
