APRA probes insurers after pandemic snafu

The prudential regulator has launched a probe into the insurance sector after a slew of insurers botched the management of business interruption policies with outdated product disclosure statements and definitions.

Amid the watchdog’s concerns is the vulnerability of insurance companies to policies that would pay out for cyber attacks in traditional property and liability policies without necessarily making comment as to whether customers are covered.
