Woodside Energy chief executive Meg O’Neill says some of her major rivals have “aggressive” and unrealistic plans to cut emissions as she asks investors to approve the oil and gas group’s “honest” climate strategy.
Some of Woodside’s largest shareholders have indicated they will vote against the company’s climate plan at an annual meeting next week which has become a focus for environmental activists this year. Some investors are also targeting Woodside’s chairman, Richard Goyder, and pushing for him to be voted off the board.
