Snowy Hydro CEO Paul Broad says progress is urgently needed on key transmission lines to be built from the Snowy region to be ready to carry energy from the Snowy 2.0 project and other renewables projects in 2025.
Mr Broad said transmission was “the number one issue” for Snowy as it looks towards the next few years, when its investment pipeline will be dominated by the Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro project, costing about $6 billion, and the $600 million gas power plant to be built at Kurri Kurri in NSW.
