The clean energy renaissance that’s backed by big oil
The extraction of geothermal energy from the Earth’s core is enjoying a renaissance, and companies like BHP, Chevron and BP have put their money behind it.
Jeanine Vany thought she was taking a big risk when she quit her oil and gas job to chase a cleaner future in a geothermal energy start-up named Eavor in 2016.
“I’m completely risk-averse. So it’s very, very bizarre that I did this. It’s just not in my nature,” she told the Tech Zero podcast.
