Jeanine Vany thought she was taking a big risk when she quit her oil and gas job to chase a cleaner future in a geothermal energy start-up named Eavor in 2016.

“I’m completely risk-averse. So it’s very, very bizarre that I did this. It’s just not in my nature,” she told the Tech Zero podcast.
