Taiwan investor to open borders for Garnaut’s Zen Energy

Ross Garnaut-backed Zen Energy may seek to develop battery projects in Taiwan and potentially Japan after securing $43 million of investment from a $1.1 billion Taipei-listed renewable energy developer that shores up its funding after a rocky year.

Under a deal signed on Friday, HD Renewable Energy Co will buy new shares in Zen equivalent to 9.7 per cent of its expanded equity base.
