A Cooper Basin junior that struck supply deals with some of Australia's biggest gas consumers is in dispute with Orica after it failed to deliver gas to the explosives manufacturer on time.

Strike Energy made headlines in 2013 and 2014 when, despite the early stage nature of its Southern Cooper Basin gas project, it signed long-term gas supply agreements with large consumers such as Orica, packaging company Orora, Brickworks subsidiary Austral Bricks and cement maker Adelaide Brighton.
