Queensland state-owned energy companies, including coal-fired power stations, have delivered more than $5 billion in dividends to the coffers of the Labor government over the past five years.
As Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk warned the federal government to “keep your hands off our generators”, an analysis of their financial statements by The Australian Financial Review revealed they were big money earners for the Queensland government.
